Top coat black

The Top Coat is prepared from polyester resin: to make it thixotropic (to facilitate its use on a vertical wall), this product contains silica as well as pigments for coloring.

Paraffin is also added to make this Top Coat waterproof and non-tacky.

The application of this topcoat has the function of making the laminate waterproof, protecting it from UV, chemical aggressions and giving the assembly a colored final appearance. Only one layer is to be expected!

The dosage of the Top Coat to be applied is 250 g / m 2.

For polymerization, the Top Coat must be mixed with a catalyst (hardener).

The terms Gel-Coat and Top Coat are often confusing and this is probably due to the fact that these terms are derived from another technique: the manufacture of parts by molding.

In pond construction, Gel-Coat always designates the visible layer, the topcoat therefore, in our case, a waxed Gel Coat!
