Multicyclone

The Multicyclone is a complementary prefilter to reduce the frequency of maintenance of Beads filters, cartridge filters or sand filters (sand filters in a swimming pool).

In a fish tank, it does not provide a sieve pre-filter.

The patented operating mode and the design of this prefilter make it possible to collect the finest and dense particles by centrifugation.

This prefilter does not retain dirt against a grid or other obstacle: it separates the water from the particles by the principle of centrifugal force.

Because of this, it always operates at full capacity without being obstructed.

The internal part of the apparatus consists of vertical conical conduits favoring the deposition of the particles.

A transparent container makes it possible to see the deposit of particles separated, a valve makes it the back wash.

According to the designers, many tests reveal the following characteristics.

During the tests, particles of 5 to 80 microns were used: 100% of the 60 to 80 micron particles were collected and deposited in the recovery vessel. Furthermore, 87% of the particles between 40 and 60 microns were separated and deposited in the recovery vessel.

This prefilter is positioned after the pump and before the biological filter: the cyclone does not dispense with a prefilter with a grid that is essential for bead filtration!
