The required radiation intensity depends mainly on the type of pond and its fish population.

Scientific studies have shown the rates of radiation to block microorganisms.

For ornamental ponds, you need between 8 and 10 mJ: for swimming pools and for ponds with a lot of fish, a dose of between 16 and 25 mJ is necessary.

Many varieties of algae already perish from 5 mJ radiation.

Legionella is rendered harmless at a dosage of 19 mJ.

A Koi or swimming pool requires a larger dose for combating harmful organisms.
