HOW DOES A DRUM FILTER WORK?

The filter consists mainly of a tank in which is housed a rotating drum: this drum is coated with a filter membrane of 120 microns (0.12 mm) on its periphery.

The dirty water from the basin is directed into the interior of the drum and, to leave this filter, the water must pass through the filter membrane.

The water in the basin, which is freed of particles, comes out of the filter and is directed to the biological part of the filter.

As the dirty water passes through the drum, the particles settle out, blocking the small holes in the membrane which gradually clogs.

The passage of water is slowed down, causing a difference in level between downstream and upstream of the sieve.

At this time, the detection system starts a drum cleaning cycle. From this moment, the drum turns very slowly and the nozzles placed on the upper part (external side of the drum) project water jets on the filter membrane: under the pressure of the water, the smallest dirt is expelled from the filter membrane.

This dirt is collected in a gutter and directed to the sewer. The upstream / downstream water level is restored until the next cycle.

This cleaning is minimalist: it only intervenes when necessary and the drum only rotates.

This model also includes a biological filter: the water first passes from the drum part (mechanical filtration) to the biological part from where it will then be evacuated to the basin.

As standard, the filter is offered with filtration media: it is possible to acquire it empty, therefore without biological filtration. This empty model is nevertheless sold WITH UV, pump, diffuser, regulation etc. it is therefore functional. The only difference is whether or not organic media are delivered, as desired! If you are interested in an empty model, contact us!

The price of transporting this item cannot be reasonably calculated in advance because of the numerous variables: location, weight, volume, ordering additional items, possible discount etc.

Rather than having a package which is often very penalizing, we prefer to calculate the price, on a case by case basis.
